Hey everyone! I feel like I blinked and somehow it’s already March. If you live anywhere in the Northeast like I do, you’re probably feeling the same way. This winter has been brutal, and I think we’re all more than ready for spring and a little sunshine. This month’s newsletter I’m sharing where I escaped to recently for some much-needed warmth (spoiler: the Caribbean), plus a quick update on the crisis in the Middle East and how it’s affecting travel and some of my clients. Let’s dive in. A Quick Travel UpdateIf you’ve been following the news lately, you’ve probably seen the situation unfolding in the Middle East. Travel has a way of constantly evolving, and this past week has been a great example of why having a travel advisor can make such a difference. We currently have several clients traveling through that region, and thankfully we’ve been able to reroute all of their trips smoothly to avoid the crisis. It has definitely been a busy week behind the scenes, but most importantly I’m so happy that all of my clients are safe and have safe paths home. Because I plan so many long-haul, more “exotic” trips, think safaris, the Maldives, the Seychelles, this definitely affects my clients. The Middle East is such a major hub for global travel and home to some of my favorite airlines, aka Emirates. Many routes to Africa and the Indian Ocean connect through that region, so when something happens there, it definitely impacts travel.... It makes me sad to see the conflict, but luckily there are many ways to avoid routing through the Middle East and also some amazing alternative destinations. For example, I had a client who was planning a trip to the Maldives. An amazing alternative is French Polynesia, so we are now planning her trip there instead. Another client was planning a Dubai girls’ weekend, and now they’re pivoting to Morocco. And for my clients heading to Africa, thankfully there are still plenty of ways to get there flying direct or connecting through Europe. This is honestly such a great example of why having a travel advisor is so important. We can help think creatively about alternative destinations, assist with rerouting, and handle the logistics behind the scenes. That way, while you’re traveling, you don’t have to worry about rebooking flights or figuring things out last minute, we’ve got you covered. And a huge shout-out to my air team who have been amazing this week helping with all the rerouting and craziness. |
Where I Went This Month: St. Lucia![]() After weeks of freezing temperatures in New York, I decided it was time for a little research trip somewhere warm. The Caribbean has actually been a region I’m intentionally trying to explore more, so St. Lucia felt like the perfect place to start. I chose St. Lucia because I love destinations that combine mountains and beach, and this island is one of the few places in the Caribbean where you get both in such a dramatic way. The moment I arrived, I was blown away. The famous Piton mountains rise straight out of the ocean, and the scenery honestly reminded me of Bora Bora or even parts of Hawaii. Except the best part? It’s only about four hours from New York. Since this was a Posh Trip, I made sure to visit the poshest resorts on the island. Below I’ll highlight two of the most iconic: Sugar Beach and Jade Mountain. Sugar Beach I stayed at Sugar Beach, mainly because Jade Mountain was fully booked (which tells you a lot about how popular it is). BUT I absolutely loved Sugar Beach. The resort sits directly between the two Piton mountains on a stunning white sand beach, which gives it one of the most dramatic settings in the Caribbean. One of the reasons I love recommending this property is that it truly works for so many types of travelers. Honeymooners love it, families love it, and it’s also great for couples or multi-generational trips. There are several different room categories, from beachfront villas to secluded hillside cottages with private plunge pools, so the experience can feel completely different depending on where you stay. This flexibility makes it fantastic but also a little tricky to navigate, which is where working with an advisor can really help match the right room to the right traveler. The property itself also has a lot of character and history. It sits on what used to be an 18th-century sugar plantation, and some of the original structures from the old sugar mill are still part of the resort today. The architecture has a relaxed colonial Caribbean feel that makes the whole place feel warm and welcoming. Jade Mountain I toured the famous Jade Mountain Resort and it truly unbelievable... While Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort works for many types of travelers, Jade Mountain is very much designed for couples and honeymooners. It’s an adults-only resort and one of the most unique hotels I’ve ever visited. The property was created by architect Nick Troubetzkoy, who designed the resort to feel like a living piece of art. Every suite (called “sanctuaries”) has only three walls, with the fourth wall completely open to nature and views of the Pitons. There are no televisions, no distractions, and each sanctuary has its own private infinity pool overlooking the mountains and sea. You feel the breeze, hear the birds, and wake up to the most unbelievable views. It’s incredibly romantic and truly unlike any other hotel. That said, it’s definitely for travelers who love being immersed in nature. If you’re someone who prefers a fully enclosed room and a more traditional hotel setup, Sugar Beach may be the better fit. This is also one of the hardest reservations to get in the Caribbean. I can see why!! BUT Luckily, I was able to meet the team while I was there and now have direct access to them. So if experiencing one of the most sought-after hotels in the Caribbean is on your list, let me know :) Where My Clients Went in FebruaryMy clients traveled to some incredible places in February, but one of my favorite trips to highlight was a couple who went to the Super Bowl!!!! We arranged their hotels, transfers, and VIP game-day experiences to make the whole trip seamless and unforgettable. SOO just an FYI, if anyone has a bucket-list sporting event on their radar, I can absolutely help arrange that. Think the Super Bowl, the FIFA World Cup, the The Masters Tournament, Formula One World Championship races, and other major events around the world. I can help arrange the hotels, transfers, and VIP experiences so the whole trip is seamless. Thank You AgainThank you again for reading, and for being apart of PoshTrips. This business exists because of you, your support, and the incredible trips we create together. I’ll be back next month with new destination highlights, client spotlights, and a few “unGoogleable” luxury experiences I’m working on behind the scenes.
